Borsalino Restaurant, one of the first and most famous Italian restaurants in Saint-Petersburg has the honour to introduce to you the new Head Chef Tonio Greco. Tonio has already created special menu for St. Valentine’s Day, which will be available from 11th to 17th, February. During the most romantic week of the year Tonio Greco recommends to taste Risotto with Strawberry and Shrimps, Gnocchi with Cheese, Walnuts and Sauce of Pears, Shrimps Cocktail with Radicchio, Carbonara of Salmon with Grilled Vegetables. Tonio’s signature desserts are Chocolate Souffle with Fruit Sauce, Assorted Sorbet with Mango, Strawberry and Lime, Sicilian Cannoli, Pistachio Cake, Gourmet Cake with Chocolate and Nuts.
Coming from Sicily, he has worked in some of the best restaurants in Italy – from Palermo to Sardinia. His main point now is to update Borsalino Restaurant menu with traditional Italian dishes among which are pasta, pizza and desserts. The base of his culinary training is utilizing free-range products and fresh ingredients, keeping food natural, usage of local products and simplicity, so he purchases not only Italian products but local specialties too and never combines in his dish more than 7 ingredients.
In the nearest time Tonio will include sugar-free desserts, gluten-free dishes and grilled seafood. Every two weeks Tonio will renew his recommendations menu based on seasonal products. There will be cooking master-classes for children launched in the nearest future.
